When you work in tech, the pace of growth means you need new managers even faster than you can find them.
And that means you’re hiring and promoting people who have a lot of promise, but not the experience to back it up — yet.
For the last year, I’ve noticed a theme with my clients. I’ve helped 90% of them make big career moves — going after (and getting!) big, “dream job” type roles.

It’s true. Life is too short to stay stuck in a job that’s sucking the life out of you (and underpaying you in the process).
But when you want to go after one of those made-for-you, meaningful, career-defining roles?
You need to know how to wake that recruiter up, as soon as they see your application. And you need to know how to show them exactly how perfect you are for the role, right there on the page.
Because right now, your CV is the biggest thing standing between you and that dream job.
2022 has been huge for tech jobs. There are tonnes of opportunities out there, with some phenomenal companies.
And there’s also a lot of competition.
Which is why your CV is such an important piece of the puzzle.
Because I have to tell you — even though there’s a lot of competition out there? A lot of those people you’re competing with are pretty average. There is a huge opportunity to stand out. And just a little bit of work can make the difference between “We’ll keep you in mind for future opportunities” and “Hey! Are you free to talk this afternoon?”
As the market gets more competitive, you need to learn how to lean into the things that make you special.
And then you need to figure out how to put that down on paper (or in pixels!) in a way that makes your amazingness clear to the people who matter.
