Here's how it all happened.
Hi! I’m Yota
A founder, speaker, and personal brand expert based in London (though I spend as much time as possible at home in Greece, soaking up the sunshine).
Most “About” pages give you the glossy version — the job titles, the wins, the nice photos. But the truth is, my journey hasn’t been a straight line.
I’ve gone from software engineering to entrepreneurship, from hiding behind company logos to standing on stages, from corporate polish to finally showing up as myself.
And every moment (even the uncomfortable ones) has shaped how I work today.
So instead of a list of credentials, I want to show you the real story: the missteps, the pivots, and the lessons I had to learn the hard way about what it takes to show up as yourself in business.
Because here’s the thing: the same clarity and confidence that transformed my career is exactly what I now help other founders build.
Scroll down — you’ll see what I mean.
My story
A little bit of Greek sunshine in London
I grew up in Athens, and the sunshine and warmth of my home has become a part of my personality. (That much will become clear the first time we talk, I promise.)
I moved to London and fell in love with the tech scene — there were so many amazing people and ideas, everything was so alive and diverse.
My journey from code to coach
I started my career in tech—starting as a software engineer and working myway up into senior roles at Amazon and Yahoo.
Big teams, big projects, big responsibilities.
I loved solving complex problems, working with brilliant people, and building products that reached millions.
But here’s the thing. The moments that truly lit me up?
🔥 Not shipping code.
🔥 Not optimizing systems.
🔥 But helping people step into their power.
When I helped someone finally own their voice in a room full of execs.
When a teammate realized they were already leading — long before their title caught up.
When I watched someone step into their confidence and change the entire trajectory of their career.
And one day, it hit me: THIS is what I’m meant to do.
So I made the boldest move of my life.
I left my job, went back to school to get my Master’s in Coaching Psychology from UCL , and got to work helping people transform their careers — and their lives.
And since then?
✨ I’ve worked with 500+ tech leaders, from first-time managers to C-suite executives and founders, helping them see their own amazingness and really step into their full potential as leaders
✨ I’ve built Together in Tech, a 5,000+ person community all about the human side of working in tech.
✨ I’ve been named a UK Delegate to the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women, become an advisor to UCL’s School of Management, and spoken on stages around the world.
What I learned is that it’s really about knowing yourself, and finding the courage to show up and own it.
The moment I stopped pretending to be corporate-perfect and started showing up as myself — everything clicked. I stopped chasing opportunities, and they came to me instead.
And I've been able to create a business and life I'm 100% in love with, just by doing what I love, and doing it in a way that only I can do it.
And now I help other founders and entrepreneurs do the same.
I started out thinking branding was all about fonts and headshots.
Brands I collaborate with:
“Yota changed how I saw myself. She didn’t just help me get promoted three times and nearly double my salary — she helped me recognize my own potential.
